Project Description
The goal by the owner of this great condo in Seattle was to create Seattle’s best overnight stay and it looks like they were successful! This amazing space required high end AV that was visually tasteful, we at Theater Design NW worked up a collaborative system design that is virtually invisible except when it’s on.
To match the custom finish and fixtures in the condo, a 60″ Sony KDX series HDTV is framed in a very cool custom heavy gauge steel industrial mount built by the projects custom steel fabricator.
The TV is carefully calibrated to exact specs so viewing is great in either sunlight flooded daytime or relaxing night time with all of the lights off. The mount is designed to swing out to more than a right angle so the same TV can be watched from the master suite if desired.
The main zone speakers are excellent Monitor Audio Gold in custom black lacquer finish customized by our firm so they could be tucked up under a beam as shown in the top right of this photo. To avoid a visible center channel or subwoofer, the greatroom is configured with 4 Golds run in reverse stereo configuration for in phase, full range sound coverage. The other condo zones are handled by color matched Gold in-ceilings for the master suite and a discreet point source stereo in the master bath.
The source components are hidden overhead on simple utility shelf in the pantry and include: a Marantz AVR, Sonos music player, Apple TV, and a Directv receiver. Richard Gray’s handles the power conditioning with quality Wireworld interconnects and AC cables.
